Keeping Spiritually Fit

How does one keep spiritually fit?

Well I think we all have our own ways, doing what works best for us. But there are obviously staple foods that keep us on track.

Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6 to do many things but those that I regard as staples (for myself and my girls) are 1. to give to the needy and 2. prayer and fasting. Actually in Matthew 6 is His example of how to pray; the Lord's Prayer.

The Lord's Prayer in itself gives us a very good example of not only how to pray but how to live our lives. Take a look.

Matthew 6:9-13 (NLT) Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

3. Delight yourself in His Word. The Word is there to guide us, teach us, convict us, renew our minds, inspire, encourage, correct, to show us love and forgiveness... Psalm 119:105 says 'Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.'

The Bible is Gods Word to us. His letter. His map. His sustenance. Gods Word is better then Google, GPS, all the text books in the world and a lifetime supply of nutritious food!
