Spirit Beings

I read a verse of the day (via the Bible Gateway app) this morning and it really excited me. I'm still feeling so happy about my revelation that now I'm writing about it! 😊

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

It's very simple. Once we have believed and accepted Christ into our heart to be our Lord and Saviour, we have The Spirit of God - the Holy Spirit living inside of us.

As we allow God to live in us and grow and guide us, we make decisions and do things that don't make sense to those who do not yet believe. They cannot evaluate or understand us. They even think us foolish.

But because we have God inside of us, by His Spirit and power we can understand and evaluate all things. How awesome is that?!

Thank you God for giving us, your children this edge and mystery. You are so super-incredible. I praise you Lord.

What an amazing God we serve. Amen.

Trust in Him

Have you ever felt like you're the only one trying desperately to hold something together? It could be a situation, a family, a household...

My husband and I both come from dysfunctional family settings. While we absolutely love our families (and each other!) sometimes for us family matters arise that are not normal and sometimes not fair. During these times it's important to remember where you stand.

In Hebrews 10:35-36 it says, "So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised."

In Philippians 3:1 it also says, "Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith."

And in 2 Thessalonians 3:13 it says "... never get tired of doing good."

So if you are facing any kind of opposition whether it be from a family member, a demanding toddler, in the workplace, or even your own fears and insecurities, remember...

1. Do not throw away your confidence and trust in The Lord

2. Have patient endurance

3. Rejoice in The Lord

4. Never tire of doing good

Bringing Peace & Unity

Ephesians 2:14-16 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.

How does this passage relate to us. I can see a couple a couple of ways. But I want to share just one.

Paul speaks of how Christ brought peace and united the people (Jews and Gentiles) by creating a new group of people.

Sometimes as mothers we are peacemakers. Especially if we have more than one child. No matter how close your children are, at some point they will have an argument or disagreement.

If they are young children or toddlers they will still be learning to share and and play with others.

During the those often testing times it is our job as mothers to bring peace, discipline if necessary and then afterwards we new to remember to bring them back together. Unite the people. Lol!

I have some strong personalities in my house. So it can be difficult. But not more difficult than Jesus Christ reconciling the Jews and Gentiles. Ask Jesus for help as to how to approach each situation. Remember to use gentleness and kindness. Jesus is our example. Use him as a parent how to. He is personal and he does care.

Voting Day 2013

After appraising my choices for our nations leader I have made confident decision.

No longer will I vote with the crowd, or vote for a specific party because of family tradition, nor will I vote for a party based of their previous reputation.

No matter how small (or big) a difference it makes I will vote based on what I know is right based on the truth. All policies and promises made need to align themselves with the Word of God.

I've been praying for our nation and this day during the last month. I pray that God will direct the hearts and decisions of voters. Please keep our country safe from poor decisions and crummy leaders O Lord. Let us be a light among all other nations. Planet shakers.

I pray for Strong Families, Strong Values, Strong Australia.

Snow Ice-Cream!

I have never heard of this before. I came across the idea and this (over 40 year old) recipe while reading via Pinterest. Check it out, only 3 Ingredients...

8 cups of fresh snow (just fallen)
1 can of condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix it through. Serve. Enjoy!

Aunt Ruthie of says...
You can add sprinkles, chocolate chips or whatever you like but for me…it’s delicious just plain!

We have not yet been to the snow this year but were planning on it for next week and again in the school holidays at the end of the season. If I can, I'm going to grab me some fresh snow and bring it home.

How exciting! If I get some real snow, I will let you know how it tastes.

But for us Aussie's, especially those who don't get snow near them. Why not try this recipe in summer (or anytime of year) by exchanging the real snow with 8 cups of well crushed ice. Use a blender or food processor to get your snow like effect.

My tastebuds are going crazy now just  thinking about it ❄⛄❄
